The Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) is preparing its 2018-2021 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP), a list of all transportation projects that will receive federal funds in the next 4 years, and the associated Air Quality Conformity Analysis (AQCA).

These draft documents will be reviewed by CRCOG’s Transportation Committee on 6/26/2017. CRCOG’s Transportation Committee, acting as the Policy Board, will consider them for approval on 7/24/2017. Both of these meetings will begin at 12:00 noon. Opportunity for public comment will be provided at these meetings, and at an 11:30 a.m. Public Information Meeting on 6/26/2017. All of these meetings will take place at the MIRA Recycling Center, 211 Murphy Road, Hartford, CT. The building is handicapped accessible and located on a CTtransit bus line. Persons requiring auxiliary aids or translation services for participation in these meetings should contact Karen Stewartson at (860) 522-2217 at least five business days prior to the meeting. (Un interprete estará disponible para esta reunión si usted lo solicita al (860) 522-2217, lo más pronto posible. / Jeśli potrzebujesz tłumacza na język polski, zadzwoń (860) 522-2217 jak najszybciej.)

The State Transportation Improvement Program (STIP) will also be available for review during this period. The STIP is available on CRCOG’s website, at CRCOG’s office, on the Connecticut Department of Transportation’s (CTDOT) website www.ct.gov/dot/stip, and at CTDOT. Written comments on the STIP and AQCA may be sent to Maribeth Wojenski, Transportation Assistant Planning Director, CTDOT, PO Box 317546, Newington, CT 06131-7546, until 7/31/2017.

With regard to proposed transit improvements, this notice of public involvement activities and time established for public review and comments on the TIP development process will satisfy the FTA’s Program of Projects (POP) requirements. The POP is the equivalent of the Transit Element of the TIP.

More information on the TIP, as well as opportunities to comment can be found here.
