Cooperative Bids and RFPs
Annually, the CRPC sponsors up to 20 bids covering a wide range of municipal products and services, including gasoline, heating oil, and snowplow blades, as well as catch basin cleaning and ladder testing services for local fire departments. CRPC’s Yearly Bid Schedule

The Nuts and Bolts
To participate, members are simply asked to submit the quantities desired for each bid, and our staff does the rest.  From specification development and advertising to bid tabulation work and vendor performance monitoring.  Each year, towns are encouraged to add new items to bids and help us establish new bids in order to ensure that their individual product/service needs are being met by the CRPC’s program.

Beyond Bidding
The Council’s range of service provision reaches well beyond the competitive bidding realm. In fact, members can also benefit from the following programs:

• access to RFP Depot for your own bids, a streamlined, online system with a national network of vendors (subject to CRCOG's financial arrangement or your own contract);
• workshops sponsored by the agency on emerging trends in public procurement and information technologies;
• a pioneering regional natural gas procurement program;
• staff support for the review and development of boilerplate specifications; and
• reliance on a network of purchasing professionals which spans all CRPC Members.
  

Partnership Opportunities
In support of its efforts to further enhance the scope of its service offerings, the CRPC has formed strategic alliances with various regional organizations and state agencies. The result of these "partnerships" has been a marked increase in the number of cooperative purchasing opportunities and a reinvigorated commitment to pursue professional development activities.

In fact, the CRPC has worked extensively with both the Capitol Region Education Council (CREC) and the Metropolitan District Commission (MDC) to offer competitive pricing on products like copy paper, custodial supplies and chlorine.
