Devon is a regional transportation planner and geographer working at the Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) in Hartford, CT. In his position as Senior Transportation Planner, he often works in data analysis, using statistical and geospatial methods to analyze transportation and socio-economic patterns. He is heavily involved with performance measures, congestion management analysis, transportation safety, and mobility management programs. He has recently become more involved with travel demand modeling and scenario planning. He holds a PhD in Geography from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (August 2014) and a professional Master of Urban Planning & Policy (MUPP) from the University of Illinois at Chicago (August 2017). Devon came to transportation from a languages and area studies background, focusing and East-Central and Northern Europe. He speaks German and Polish quite well in addition to having a knowledge of several other languages. Devon was born in Alaska and grew up in Oklahoma and then spent nearly nine years in Illinois before moving to Connecticut. As pastimes, he enjoys reading and research, as well as traveling around and exploring New England and nearby areas with his wife. He also enjoys hiking and the outdoors and is an ardent fan of winter.
