Accountant Trainee

Come join our team! The Capitol Region Council of Governments is seeking a collaborative and qualified professional to serve as an Accountant.

The Accountant Trainee will report to and work under the supervision of the Finance Officer to learn; day to day duties of grants and contract management, CRCOG financial reporting procedures, accounts payable and receivables and to assist in the annual audit and revolving loan administration.

The successful candidate will hold a bachelor's degree in accounting and possess knowledge of: accepted accounting principles and practices, principles of financial administration, budgeting and reporting, automated financial management systems, computer equipment and advanced uses of word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, database, and other software. Candidates must be able to think critically, be detail oriented, examine, and verify financial documents, accurately process a large volume of paperwork, organize and set priorities, exercise sound independent judgment within areas of responsibility, organize and maintain complex financial files, communicate clearly and effectively orally and in writing, prepare clear, accurate reports, and establish and maintain highly effective working relationships with others.

Total Compensation


The current salary range is $55,171 - $71,722 (DOQ).
