Clean School Bus Program

The CT Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) invites the public and other interested stakeholders to review and respond to a series of questions designed to assess the potential opportunities and challenges for implementing EPA’s Clean School Bus program including municipal interest in the deployment of electric school buses (ESB) and associated charging infrastructure, understanding of project costs and other barriers to ESB expansion, and to explore technical support opportunities and financial incentive programs that could alleviate such barriers for municipalities, school districts, and school bus operators.

DEEP seeks this information to develop a Clean School Bus matching grant program authorized by Public Act (PA) 22-25, An Act Concerning the Connecticut Clean Air Act.

Interested parties can provide input by responding to questions further described in the Request for Information (RFI). Comments should be submitted to DEEP.mobilesources@ct.gov with the subject “Response to Clean School Bus Request for Information.” The response period closes on Monday, July 11, 2022.
