Capitol Region Council of Governments (CRCOG) Welcomes Matt Hart as its New Executive Director

Hartford, CT, Dec. 21, 2021 – Today, the Capitol Region Council of Governments at a special meeting of its Policy Board appointed Matt Hart as their new Executive Director. Mr. Hart will bring extensive experience in municipal government and strategic leadership to the organization. 

“Matt Hart has been an effective, and well-known leader from municipal government from the Hartford area. We are excited to have him join CRCOG and look forward to his leadership in helping to advance regional programs that will benefit the residents of our region,” said Chairwoman Erin Stewart.  

Matt Hart currently serves as the Town Manager for the town of West Hartford. He has a Juris Doctor and Masters of Public Administration from the University of Connecticut as well as a Bachelor’s degree in political science from the State University of New York at Potsdam.  He is an International City and County Management Association Credentialed Manager.

CRCOG’s Executive Committee also wishes to publicly thank Dr. Lyle W. Wray, the organization’s previous Executive Director, for his 18 years of service.  

Mr. Hart will begin his duties with CRCOG effective February 28.
