additional committees

In addition to its standing and major committees, CRCOG has other committees that are either required by statute or have been formed out of necessity around important topics.

Ad-hoc Committee on Crumbling Foundations

The goal of the committee is to provide towns and homeowners with assistance in needed areas: including potentially helping in determining qualified contractors in testing, engineering and remediation.

Corridor Advisory Committee

The Corridor Advisory Committee was launched in 2013 to provide the chief elected officials and other interested parties of the cities and towns on the New Haven-Hartford-Springfield rail line and the CTfastrak rapid transit corridors with a forum to share information and tools for taking full advantage of the $1.5 billion dollar transportation investment underway. CRCOG, Advance CT (formerly Connecticut Economic Resource Center, CERC), Connecticut Main Street Center, and the South Central Regional Council of Governments sponsored the creation of the Committee. Since 2018, both corridors, the CTfastrak running from New Britain to Hartford and throughout surrounding areas and the CTrail Hartford Line have been in operation and both have been highly successful.

Currently, the Corridor Advisory Committee aims to meet on a quarterly basis to continue to share information and strategies for successful transit-oriented development.

The co-chair of the Corridor Advisory Committee is First Selectman Michael Freda of North Haven, Connecticut.

Weblinks for the two main projects are at: CTrail Hartford Line and CTfastrak.
